This Week!
It was another busy week in Kindergarten! This month we are focusing on learning about apples, pumpkins, fall and colors. We have played The Raven Game, a wonderful cooperative game. The object of the game is to get the wooden fruits off their trees before the raven does. This game has been a big hit. At center time we did some sewing. The children continued to learn about patterns during this activity. They used needle and thread in an under/over pattern on a Styrofoam plate to create concentric circles.
Conversation Starters
* How many colors can you name?
* What is your favorite center at Center time and why?
* What folk dance did you learn during project time? (Hint: it starts with a 7!)
Fun Things To Do At Home
* Make a wordless story book.
* Take a walk around the neighborhood and see how many trees have changed color.
* Read the poem "Leaves, Leaves."
Poem of the Week
Leaves, Leaves
Leaves, leaves,
All around the town
Find me a red leaf
Find me a brown.
One's on my shoulders,
One's on my toes,
One's on my fingers
And my nose, nose, nose.
Apps we used this week
We have been learning how to use Seesaw. We practiced taking pictures and saving them to our accounts and we also learned how to use the video feature. This week took photographs of the beautiful self-portraits we made with Mrs. Bennett and used Seesaw to record our reflections on our work. We know our teachers are learning how to use Seesaw right along with us. Watch for these portraits in your Seesaw accounts in the next few days!
