Principal's Message

Hawk Family,

We had a fantastic Homecoming 2022 week and are exciting to share pictures of our amazing students enjoying the dress up days, pep rally, and the game against San Antonio MacArthur. I want to thank our student council for their hard work to ensure our students and staff had a great week.

We are preparing for the upcoming PSAT test on Wednesday October 12th which all of our underclassmen will take. The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is a practice version of the SAT exam which also allows Juniors, who score high enough, to earn a National Merit Scholarship. Our seniors will be engaged in other activities at this time such as hearing a presentation from Herff Jones, our graduation invitation and gown provider.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns 512-268-2911.

Go Hawks!

Student Pick Up Process

Please help Hays HS keep students safe by picking up your student at the curb in front of Joe Graham Gym. Talk to your student and remind them to wait for you to arrive at the curb before getting into the vehicle. This will prevent students from walking in front of other vehicles and busses. This will also help the flow of traffic.

New District Cell Phone and Earbud Policy

After consideration and continuing discussions with the district student advisory panel, teachers, parents and administration; Hays CISD has decided that beginning in 2022 - 2023, students will not be allowed to use their cell phones or earbuds during instructional time. This decision is designed to help preserve the quality and integrity of instruction. Students will still be able to use their district provided devices during classes, which connect to the internet on the district’s safe and filtered network. During an emergency, students will, of course, be able to use their cell phones. See Board Policy FNCE (Local) for additional information.

If a student's phone is confiscated, it will be returned to the student at the end of the day.

Students at Hays HS will be allowed to utilize their phones and earbuds during their lunch.

All Students are required to wear ID's

Hays High School is committed to a safe environment. As part of that plan, everyone on campus is required to visibly wear their school ID. Students will be provided with a free ID at the beginning of the school year. All ID's provided after that will cost $6.00.

If a student needs an ID they need to go to the Assistant Principal's office first thing Monday.

Hays HS closed to Meal Delivery Services

As part of enhanced safety at campuses, beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, all Hays CISD campuses will no longer accept deliveries from meal delivery services or restaurants for student lunches.

Parents may still bring outside food for their children if they plan to deliver the meals directly to their children during the child’s designated lunch period. All guests are required to follow existing safety protocols and check in with an ID at the front office.

1. Parents/Guardians must Raptor in with their ID.

2. Parent then hand the food to their student.

3. Parents may eat with student here on campus in the foyer.
