The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about the month of February is Valentine's day and the first thing that comes to mind when I think about Valentines day is chocolate. How wonderful it is to have a whole day devoted to love and chocolate!

Now I'm not naive to the fact that maybe you are someone who hates Valentine's day. Perhaps it is a sad reminder of the love you long to have or perhaps you just can't stand the marketing schemes or the pressure that is undeniably associated with the day. Regardless of how you might feel toward Valentines day my prayer is that this month you are reminded of the deep and unchanging love of God.

Psalm 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

His love for you and I is constant. His love is big, it is abundant, it is faithful and it is enough. Whatever you might be facing in this season of your journey, I pray you know are comforted by God's love. A love that is able to overcome our greatest sorrows, meet our most pressing needs, and satisfy our deepest longings.

As humans, we were created with a desire to love and be loved. May we find our ultimate source of love and approval, not by what we do or aspire to become, but from our ultimate source of truth and affirmation who is Jesus.

Here are just a few reminders and tips to keep in mind while you're on stage!

  • SMILE. It is so easy to forget about what our face is doing when we are on stage. Sometimes, we can sing a whole song with a frown or without any emotion and not even realize that is what we are doing. Try to remember to smile as you sing and do the motions. I am amazed at what a difference a smile can make when leading. It creates a much more inviting and energetic atmosphere!
  • SPACE. Sometimes, we call so many kids up on stage that it prohibits us from doing big motions. When you're on stage, try to space yourself out enough so that you are able to do big motions. Remember, the kids are looking to us as their leader, so we have to make sure we give ourselves enough space for them to be able to see us and follow along.
  • SPIRIT. This is by far the most important thing to remember while we are on stage. The Holy Spirit is with us and He is constantly at work in our hearts and in the hearts of our students. Don't forget to be aware of His presence and invite Him into our worship time!

Just a reminder that the songs "Forever Reign" and "Give it Away" are found under the "created playlist" tab on the KidVenture YouTube channel.

February's volunteer of the month goes to miss Victoria O'Donnell! Victoria is new to our KV worship team and I could not be more grateful for her positive attitude and her ability to adapt to any situation. Victoria, you have done such a great job at leading with confidence and a spirit of joy. I can't thank you enough for jumping right in and being so consistent in your serving. I know that you are someone that is dependable and trustworthy. We are grateful to have you apart of the worship team and I am pumped to see how God continues to grow you and use you to teach our kids what it looks like to worship God with a sincere heart. We love you Victoria!
