The Importance of a Quiet Life...by Brian Gardner
“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” —Anne Lamott
I’m convicted of this… All. The. Time.
Many of us, including me, suffer from FOMO—the fear of missing out. We’re simply afraid if we don’t attend that event, don’t sign up for that committee, or don’t enroll our kids in that sport, we’ll miss out on something.
We think there is happiness to be had, joy to be experienced, and moments to be made. Yes, there might be some truth to this, but who’s to say the moments of solitude or quiet time won’t measure up—or even exceed those altogether?
I love what Katrina Kenison shares in her essay, Why You Must Have Time Alone:
In solitude, we see more clearly. Alone—in moments of prayer or meditation, or simply in stillness—we breathe more deeply, see more fully, hear more keenly. We notice more, and in the process, we return to what is sacred.Do yourself a favor and reclaim margin in your life. It might make a world of difference and bring you happiness. Because you are worthy of it.
We are heading into what is traditionally a very busy season, take care of you!
Employee ID Change Information
All district staff will be assigned a random six digit number that starts with a "3". The possible range is 300000 to 399999. All district employees that have not been part of the testing phase will have their new number implemented on Wednesday, November 27.
A specific email will go to each staff member telling them their new number on November 21.
WorkForce and Employee On-line will use the new six digit employee number along with the current existing password.
Badges will be bulk printed by a company and should be back in district in early December. Human Resources will have more information on this once they receive the badges.
Until employees get the new badge, they will time in/out using the keypad. The swipe will no longer work on the old badge when new numbers are rolled out. Technology will place a sign on each kiosk reminding people to key in their new number.
There is NO impact on passwords, ALL existing passwords stay the same.
For those employees that use Kelly Services and AESOP, the ID/Username will be your six digit number with two leading zeros. For example, if your new employee number is 350350, you would log in with 00350350 and your existing password

Also, genius idea: see picture below. This is a picture that is hanging in a classroom bathroom. We liked the idea and wanted to share. This classroom keeps a small chair in their restroom at all times. That way they or a sub have a nice reminder of what to do and have all the materials.
