Rasor's Vision

Homework - February 8th - 12th

Reading – at least 30 minutes nightly - initial in the box each day your child reads for at least 30 minutes. Please remember to initial your child's folder.


Math – February Math Book - Days 6-10 - please take time to go over the questions with your child. It is so important that they are completing the questions correctly.


Spelling - Study words and complete 2 spelling activities


High Frequency Words - practice reading the 1st and 2nd 100 Words and spelling the 4th 25 of the 1st 100.


Fluency Passage - Read the fluency passage 3 times. Remember to read it once and then time for one minute. Practice passage and then read for a 2nd time for one minute. Practice passage and then read for the 3rd time for one minute. Your child should be reading close to 90 words a minute.

Friday - March 25th - No School - Bad Weather Day


Friday - April 15th - Outdoor Learning Center Field Trip - two classes morning, two classes afternoon

Valentine Party

Friday, Feb. 12th, 1:15-2:15pm

Plano, TX

We are so excited to announce our 2nd Grade Valentine party.


Your child can bring Valentine cards for the students in their class and other friends. We will pass the cards out starting Monday, February 8th. Please do not send the cards until this date.


We are needing a couple items for the party:


Small Conversations Hearts - 2 bags for each class

red licorice - 1 bag for each class

pixie sticks - 1 bag for each class

candy kisses - 2 bags for the grade level

100 small plates


We had plenty of other goodies left from the Winter party.


Volunteers Needed/Wanted: we would love to have your help with the party. If you are able to help-out please email your child's teacher.

Volunteers

We would like to let you know that we would love for you to volunteer in 2nd grade. We can always use parents to help in so many ways. If you are interested in helping in your child's classroom, email your child's teacher. We love to have parents here working with our kids and helping us.

BOXTOPS for Education Announcement

BoxTops contest – the winning grade receives a popcorn party!

It is time to bring those BoxTops to school. You can send them taped to the flyer that was sent home, or you can send them in a baggie. Make sure baggies and flyers are labeled with the teacher name and grade. The contest began last week and will run through the end of the month. Thank you for supporting Rasor!

BOOKFAIR

It's Bookfair time again! This is one of PTA's largest fundraisers, and we need your help making it a success!
