Highlights

Greetings from the Director

This week we began the second nine-week grading period at Legacy PCA – Plano by seeing the arrival of more scholars on our campus. We have also been celebrating RED RIBBON WEEK as part of our drug free and bully free school environment. Thank you to Mrs. Zambrano for coordinating Red Ribbon Week. The scholars and teachers have enjoyed dressing up and learning about how to make healthy choices and how to stay safe.

As we continue our journey through the 2020-2021 school year we must continue to stay vigilant with regard to school safety. Over the next several weeks we will be practicing many of our emergency drills with our scholars that are here on campus. Parents please talk to your scholars about our emergency procedures and work with them on creating emergency plans for your families at home.

Our first nine-week grading period was filled with new learning and many exciting moments. I can honestly say it was like no other first quarter of school I have ever lived. As a community, we were thrown into a new way of doing school and we have overcome many challenges. As a community, we have done a tremendous job coming together and supporting each other in ways never before seen or needed. My hope is we can continue to learn and grow, and continue to support each other through open lines of communication, patience, understanding, and flexibility. The next nine weeks will be filled with many new challenges as we approach the holidays and winter months. We must all continue to work together so that we can accomplish great things as a school while maintain a safe and nurturing environment.

Stay Safe,

Mantenerse a salvo,

Michael Davies

The Epic Show Red Ribbon Week Virtual Assembly

Legacy PCA has partnered with "The EPIC Show" to encourage students to be drug-free.

Students will enjoy a variety of interactive games and exciting EPIC versus challenges.

Students are challenged to say NO to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco so they can say YES to creating a bright future. Included in this full assembly episode are these motivational messages:

● Achieving Your Dreams Starts With Good Choices

● Importance of Setting Goals

● Making Healthy Choices

● Our Choices Have Consequences

● A Drug Free-Life Protects You and Those You Love

● Trusted Adults Can Help Us With Our Problems

● True Friends Challenge Us To Be Our Best

● Being A Leader Starts With Leading Yourself

Day 1 - Setting Goals And Making Good Choices Students are introduced to Red Ribbon Week and challenged to live a drug-free life. They are encouraged to begin with the end in mind, set goals for their life, and make good choices.

Day 2 - Choices Have Consequences Every choice has a consequence. Students are reminded of the importance of stopping and thinking about the consequences before they act. Saying no to drugs takes care of your mind, your body, and the people you love.

Day 3 - True Friends & Trusted Adults Friends and trusted adults are important because they help us do what is right and challenge us to do our best. Students are encouraged to turn to trusted adults when they or a friend have a problem. Being a good friend means speaking the truth to our friends and helping them make the right choice.

Day 4 - Be A Leader Being a leader starts with leading yourself. Students are encouraged to be a leader even when it is difficult and to resist peer pressure. They are reminded of the importance of surrounding themselves with good friends who encourage and build them up. And no matter what others do, they can choose to lead by saying no to drugs and alcohol.

Day 5 - My Future Is Bright! Every choice you make has the power to take you one step closer or one step farther away from your goals. The habits that students form today will stick with them the rest of their lives. Students are challenged to develop good habits and live a drug-free life, so they can create their best future.

Please be advised hotspots have arrived. You must go to the Legacy website (Legacypca.com) and click on Virtual School. There you will submit a help ticket by clicking Request Technology Support. Once you do this you will have the option to select a date and time to pick up the device. Please be aware we do not schedule between 12:00 P.M.-1:00 P.M.

Hotspots will work on only 1 device, and it must be a Legacy device. Hotspots are not a replacement for your internet and in most cases not as strong. Please request one hotspot for each child enrolled in Legacy.

Thank you,
