Update From THIS I.F.
Be Amazing!
Thought to Ponder...
There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder.
Ronald Reagan
I have seen such growth in the last couple of weeks in our students. I guess with the blossoming of spring--our students are following! Thank you for your continued care of their academic progress with patience, determination, explicit instruction, practice and routines. Stay the course and celebrate the small blossoms that are sprouting--for yet, these shall bear more "fruit" as the year progresses.
Dates to Know--
PLC for the week of March 13-17th will happen without me in your grade level. You can meet in one of your classrooms or in the resource room. You will access the PLC document below.. You will need to go through and discuss each student, record latest PM results and whether they continue intervention as is or what change needs to be made. There are students who have moved or changed classes--just update them on the list they are on or add them as needed. You will put data in the column that says the date of your meeting and update. This is important that we are looking at this information so that we know if students are making progress and the goal increased or we need to make adjustments to the intervention to help make learning occur.
March 16th Parent Night
K-1 will have Math Night
2-5 will have a 1 to 1 Meeting
Dinner will be 5:30-6:00. Families will move to classrooms for a 30-40 minute presentation,.
Use PLC to Make Change
Please look at SRI Lexile levels and adjust the students reading ranges for book check out and Reading Counts. This is important to continue to raise the bar and expectation for students.
Celebrate growth and progress! Do not get so bogged down with the deficits. We have made progress. Keep digging. Stay the course with Engage NY--it is making an impact. Reflect and continue to be open to change. If it is NOT working in reading--we need to do something different!

Weekly Blog
Our students come to us with a wide variety of knowledge, experiences and abilities which makes learning a bit messy and uneven. This week's blog focuses on decoding of multi-syllabic words. This skill MUST be present for student to be able to decode and comprehend more difficult text independently.
