Curriculum Impact
Instruction
The 6th grade ELA teachers and I introduced the mystery and realistic fiction books to their students this month. Students read a book from one of these genres, depending on the genre each teacher chose to study. The students then did a project based on that book.Reading Programs
Two reading programs were also introduced in January. The Six Flags Read to Succeed program kicked off on January 6. The Bluebonnet program wrapped up with around 60 students voting on their favorite nominated book. The winning book at WGMS was The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. We celebrated with French cafe themed treats based on the nominated book Monsier Marceau.
