Past month in math...
We have been learning about decimals in math. We started with place value through the thousandths place. We moved into rounding decimals to the highest place value position and then adding and subtracting decimals. Remember to line up the decimals and place value positions when adding or subtracting. From there we learned to multiply and divide with the power of ten. When you multiply, your product increases the multiplicand and the decimal moves to the right the number of times of your exponent. When you divide, your quotient decreases and the decimal moves to the left the number of times of your exponent. We finished the week with multiplying and dividing decimals. We have learned a lot in the past month. Please make sure to review your math journal today.
Upcoming week in math....
When we return on Tuesday, Oct. 10th, we will review and then have a show what you know on all that we have learned. Our test for the Decimals Unit will be on Friday, Oct. 13th. We will review on Wednesday and Thursday before the test. Please make sure that you are reviewing your math notes in your journal each night.
Progress reports will come home on Friday, Oct. 13th. The math test grade will not be calculated in that average. I will send those test home on Monday, Oct. 16th.
Have a great day and week.
