During the war tanks were developed as a response to the stalemate.the tanks were armored with chain wheels. At frist they were slow and clumsy but were improved and helped the allies win the war

Effects of machine guns

because machine guns could fire rapidly soldiers that tried advancing could be taken out easily. As a result it made it harder for soldiers to advance causing stalemates.
