Teacher and student highlights for the month of November
Mrs. Steven's 6th Social Studies class
Did someone ask for their mummy?!
Mrs. Stevens' class started to study ancient Egypt and after learning about the ancient pharaohs and the mummification process, their big project was to create a mummy.
The students worked very hard all week to create their pharaoh's sarcophagus which included an image of the Nile River (transportation and food in the afterlife), Osiris god of the Dead (to guide them), their greatest achievement written in hieroglyphics.
The final step was to stuff their sarcophagus with items they wanted to take with them into the afterlife...
As you can imagine, there were quite a few cell phones, PlayStations, and even a couple of dogs stuffed in there!
Stayed tuned - next stop…
This…Is…SPARTA!
Let the Mummification Process begin for the great Pharaohs!
