CCS Redbird Blended Learning Pilot
The purpose of the CCS Redbird Blended Learning Pilot was to help teachers become fully proficient, practicing blended learning teachers. The goal of the pilot was also to identify what impact blended learning has on teachers and student achievement.
Teachers from Africentric, Briggs, Buckeye, Columbus Gifted Academy, Mifflin HS, Walnut Ridge, and Wedgewood completed online professional development that exposed them to the principles, practices and instructional benefits of blended learning. Participants worked on modules and earned points for completing tiles and courses.
Here a few takeaways from the pilot from CCS Teachers:
"The pilot and its support were important to me implementing BL. Without participation in the pilot, I may not have made implementation a priority. The pilot's structure and accountability supported my learning and gave me the confidence to "dive" in and make it happen!"
"I have learned that education needs to transform to meet the current needs of our society and I am eager to be a part of that transformation. I also learned this type of transition takes time and it's not a failure if you need to try many methods before making it work for your learners."
Congratulations to Walnut Ridge teachers Shane Murphy (1st Place in Blended Learning Pilot) and Michelle Jeffries (2nd Place in Pilot)!
