ILMS Warrior Band Newsletter
November Edition
The Upcoming Events for November...
Hoodie Sale will ABSOLUTELY start on Monday
I apologize for the ridiculous delay and false promises of the hoodie sale starting. The hoodie sale will absolutely start on Monday 11/27 and will run until Thanksgiving Break. As promised, we will be selling a limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness hoodie. This hoodie will be $5.00 extra and all proceeds will be donated to the ILMS Relay for Life. Though it is not the month of October, I believe it is important to spread awareness all year long. Hoodies with conventional band logo will also be available.
FRUIT IS COMING IN ON WEDNESDAY!
All fruit orders will be delivered to the High School Band Room on Wednesday 11/19. Please make arrangements to pick up your orders either during the school day or after school. Someone will be in the band room on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until 6:30. If these times no do not work for you please contact me and we can make an appointment for pick up. THANK YOU to all that participated!
Winter Concerts
The Winter Concerts are rapidly approaching. The dates are as follows:
6th Grade: 12/9/14 @7:00 - Student Call Time 6:00
7th/8th/Jazz Band: 12/18 @7:00 - Student Call Time 6:00
All concerts are at the City of Light off of Hwy 521. Please begin gathering concert attire (please see band handbook/or contact me for questions).
Region Band Rehearsals Start Today
If your student is auditioning for Region Band, optional after school rehearsals will begin today and continue every Thursday until 5:30. Again, these rehearsals are not required, however highly recommended.
2014 Costume Concert for a Cause
Thank you to everyone that came out. Not only did the 8th Grade Band play great, but we were able to raise over 400 canned food items. All items were donated to the local IL Food Pantry.
IL Warrior Marching Band
Please join me in congratulating our students that participate in the IL Marching Band this past season. The band received its first Class 2A State Championship SUPERIOR Rating and placed 4th overall. If your student is interested in joining the Marching Band please contact me for more information (7th grade/8th grade only).
