Special thanks to Ms. Broughton for a great PK/K showcase, Coach Williams and Coach O for a super fun Field Day, Ms. Alvarado for a stellar drama club performance, and Ms. Olivarez for an amazing book fair. We are blessed to have such a talented and devoted staff.
Conscious Discipline
Our focus for May Morning Meetings is POSITIVE ATTITUDE. This skill ties in many of the things we have already discussed; it is a good reminder as we finish the year.
Here is a link to the May Morning Meeting lessons: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZfmUwbqOp0gZyq1WOnmr9zjJlNIFXRd1wDLC2FXDK2U/edit?usp=sharing
If you have ideas for Morning Meeting themes for next school year, please share them with Mrs. Helton.
End of Year Awards
The office will provide you a certificate and brag tag for all of the awards we have been doing this year. You will just need to fill in the names. You will also need to create an award for the other students in your class that are not receiving one of these academic awards or perfect attendance.

Communities In Schools
2019-2020 CIS registration has started! Please notify Ms. Walker of any student recommendations you have for the next school year and return any completed student applications. We will begin reviewing applications and assessing needs to determine next year's caseload (approx 115 students). Additionally, we will be making some changes regarding mentors/tutors. Moving forward, all 1:1 mentors/tutors will register with CIS and complete CIS training. If you have any feedback or suggestions regarding your experience with mentors, please email Ms. Walker at kwalker@cis-hot.org.
