California Pioneer History Day
A California Pioneer History Day highlighting the contributions of groups traditionally underrepresented in California’s history will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma.
This is the fourth California Pioneer History Day event, which occurs every other year. The third biennial event in 2019 attracted about 5,000 people in one day, thrilling history buffs of all ages.
The family friendly event, which features many hands-on activities for both children and adults on pioneer life, will include historical exhibits and demonstrations from the Chinese Friends of the Railroad; Gold Rush Jewish Community; the Black peacetime military unit, the Buffalo Soldiers; the Mewuk Nisenan Native American tribes; the Japanese Wakamatsu Farm; and the Mormon Battalion, six of whose members were with James Marshall in Coloma when he discovered gold
Gratitude for PurposeFull Families
Family PurposeFull Pursuit: Family Gratitude Jar
Find a place in your home to display a glass jar. Cut up small slips of paper and place them next to the jar. Use the jar to collect special people, places, events, and memories that your family is thankful for. Find a time each week to add slips of Gratitude to the jar. Having a gloomy day or a challenging time as a family? Pull out the slips of Gratitude and read them aloud as a family as a reminder of all of your grateful moments.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences are scheduled for the week of November 15th-19th. Our Online Scheduler is now closed. Please contact your teacher via email if you need to still schedule/reschedule.
