Hurried Child Syndrome

Abby Kaiser

Hurried Child Syndrome:

pressuring children to grow up too fast and too soon

Characteristics:

  • growing up too fast
  • feeling pressured
  • thinking they have to be the best

Effects:

  • stress
  • sleep disorders and depression
  • suicide
  • anxiety

Possible Solutions:

Technology is a big part of the hurried child syndrome today. Parents need to balance their child's time on technology and interacting face to face with people as well. Also, they need to let their kids be kids and make mistakes. You can't expect your kids to be perfect.
