Traveling Tropies
Innovator
As Maplewood Elementary's most recent graduate of the Keystones Technology Innovators (KTI) summit, she can now be found looking for just the right items to create Make-n-Take STEM boxes for her students or pieces to stockpile for her Robotics Club that she will be offering as an after-school club again this school year. It is a joy hearing music playing in her classroom while her kids are collaborating on exciting projects!
Curriculum Ms. Katie Parker Ms. Parker knows that it is people, not programs, that make learning happen. The most important thing to her is that her kids learn to love to read and love books. A program alone does not do that, but a passion and purpose for literacy from a teacher does! Keep filling your reading block up with the love of reading, Ms. Parker! | MindsetMrs. Vinia Smith If laughter is any indication of how much fun you are having at work, Mrs. Smith is having a blast! She is always laughing, smiling and finding the positive in every situation. Way to keep our spirits up, Mrs. Smith! | Student Advocate Mrs. Tabitha Longo She finds opportunities in challenges and no challenge is too great! She is always seeking to do what is best for our kids - no matter what! You are such a great advocate for our littlest learners, Mrs. Longo! |

"Even when a group looks pretty much the same, every student has strengths and weaknesses, ideas and emotions, troubles and joys that make up a unique personality. Every teacher works with a wide range of students, and the mix changes every year. What is it that enables some teachers to connect and work effectively with every student, while others struggle with a handful or more in every group? The difference lies in their ability to put themselves in someone else's shoes... Great teachers have empathy for students and clarify about how others see them."

Acutec Precision Aerospace Presents Manufacturing Day 2019
Are you looking for educational or career opportunities for you and your family? On October 3, 2019, Acutec will celebrate Manufacturing Day and we invite you and your family to come visit and explore our Meadville Facility.
Acutec Precision Aerospace is a family-owned aerospace manufacturing company that employs nearly 500 employees in our three facilities across Meadville, Saegertown, and South Carolina. We have a variety of career and educational opportunities ranging from our Machinist Training Program, to our ASCEND internships, to job shadowing, and more.
Throughout the program, you and your students will have the opportunity to tour our state-of-the-art facility with one of our Acutec employees, see our new robotic arm in action, get up-close with our 3-D printer, participate in fun giveaways and activities, and more. With this free event, we will offer information about manufacturing in 2019 and spark the interest of educators, community members, and students in the industry.
The event will be held October 3, 2019 at our Meadville Facility, 13555 Broadway Drive, Meadville, PA 16335, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This opportunity can help offer information about possible careers for your students and we hope to see you there. For additional information about Acutec or Manufacturing Day, please contact Nick Ozorak at nozorak@acutecprecision.com or visit their website. Thank you for your interest and we hope you join us!
