"Black-Out" the Area Tournament

We want to 'BLACK-OUT' the first AREA game and for Regionals! Our Lady Trojans will face off tonight at home against the James Clemens Jets. Tip-off is at 6:00 PM. The Varsity Boys team will play in the Area Tournament at Sparkman High School against the James Clemens Jets tomorrow, from 6:00-8:00 PM. The Tee's are just $10.00 and good for all the games! There's a very limited supply! See Coach Tim Miller to make a purchase.

Game schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, February 10th: Varsity Girls vs. James Clemens 6:00 PM | Sparkman vs. Bob Jones 7:30 PM

Thursday, February 11th: Varsity Boys vs. James Clemens 6:00 @ Sparkman

Friday, February 12th: Area Championship Game 6:00 PM

Curriculum Night February 23rd!

We will be hosting a Curriculum Night for current 8th-11th graders on February 23rd. This will be a come and go event from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our goal is to provide you with information on the many academic and extra-curricular opportunities at Hazel Green High School. In addition, we will provide general information on the registration process. Please take this brief survey to let us know what you'd like to learn more about. It's important to make an informed decision during student registration because we are unable to make schedule changes in the fall. We hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity.

Player of the Week

The UMP is putting the spotlight on the best of the best in the Tennessee Valley with our High School Player of the Week! Congratulations to this week’s Player of The Week, Kira Lewis of Hazel Green, who scored 24 points in a win over Grissom!

Trojan Volleyball Camp

It's the second round of camp! HG is training future Trojan volleyball players, 11 to 16-year-olds, for the Meridianville Athletic Association.

The French Club

The French Club will be celebrating Mardi Gras on Wednesday, February 10th, after school, in Madame Braudaway's room, Cll2. We will be having Kings Cake! All members may come by before school to pick up Mardi Gras beads and tattoos to wear during the day!

Prom Gown Donations are needed for House of Harvest! They are also looking for hair and makeup professionals willing to donate two hours of their time to help students ready for prom on May 7th. Students Pursuing Education in a Building Industry Related Field

Attached you will find information on scholarship applications for any student pursuing an education in a building industry related field. Eligible students include those attending two-year community colleges, four-year colleges or universities or state accredited to tech schools. Building industry related fields include architecture, drafting, building science, civil engineering, or other housing industry vocations such as heating and air conditioning, electrical, masonry, carpentry, etc. Students must be residents of Madison County or contiguous counties. Please pass along this information to any student that may qualify and be interested in applying for a scholarship through our Foundation. The deadline is March 18th.

Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form into Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.

Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend
- Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.

1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of the school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.

2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.

3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.

Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.

Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit:
Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.
