Spartan Celebrations!
- Congratulations to our Science Olympiad Team who placed FIRST in the Cy Falls Invitational tournament this weekend! We are so proud of all of your hard work!
- This past Saturday, many of our 7th and 8th grade choir students participated in the Katy ISD Solo and Ensemble Competition. We are thrilled to report that ALL of our students earned Superior Ratings – the highest possible score. We had 20 students perform solos and 3 different performing ensembles. Thank you for your continued support for the performing arts at our school!
- Congratulations to our 24 SLJH Spartan Band Students that have earned a coveted spot in the TMEA Region 23 All Region Bands through a rigorous audition process this past weekend. Two of these students, Bo Wen and Evan Kohlus were awarded overall 1st chair in the entire region on their respective instruments. Congratulations to all of these students on their hard work and dedication to an amazing and well-earned accomplishment. Spanish for Spanish Speakers
Is your child a fluent Spanish speaker? If so, your child is eligible to take a course in high school called Spanish for Spanish Speakers. This is an accelerated course where students can receive four foreign language credits in two years. In order to take the class, students must show they can understand and be understood in Spanish by taking a placement test. The Spanish for Spanish Speakers Placement test will be given during school on November 19th. If your student did not receive a letter notifying them about the test, and you would like your student to take the placement test, please sign up here. As a reminder, the test does not award any high school credit. If you have any questions, please contact our Testing Facilitator, Laura Josefsson, at 281-234-2197 or LauraWJosefsson@katyisd.org
GT Screening for Secondary Students Grades 6-11
