Bus Rider Registration 2019-20 School Year

Dear Parents:

WCPSS Transportation is preparing for the next school year.

  • If your child is eligible for transportation and will be riding the bus to the same school next year, you don’t need to take any action.

  • If you need to update your bus service needs for the 2019-20 school year, please go online at www.wcpss.net/busrider and let us know.

  • If your student is assigned to a bus but is not a bus rider, please submit the decline bus form at www.wcpss.net/declinebus so that we have the most up-to-date information.

  • If you need further assistance with bus service, contact your student’s school.

Up-to-date transportation information is available in your student’s Home Base/PowerSchool account. Sign up for an account at your student’s school. More information on Home Base is available at www.wcpss.net/student-information.

Thank you for your support of the Wake County Public School System.

Open Board Chair Positions for 2019/2020 School Year!

Get Involved! We need your help to keep Holly Springs Elementary the best school for your kids. Our elections for the 2019/2020 school year are coming up in early June.

Have your voice heard by volunteering for our open positions from Chair of an event to helping out from home to being on the Board! Participate as much or as little as you want - just make sure to volunteer. The kids, school and teachers all benefit from volunteers and need us to make the events successful.

Please reach out and let me know if you have any questions or how you want to participate. I will make sure you get in touch with the right person. We would love to make the upcoming year the most successful yet! Contact careyf.martin@gmail.com to learn more!

SSA

Parents interested in having their TRACK 3 OR 4 child evaluated for SINGLE Subject Acceleration (SSA): Please click HERE for the 2019 SSA information document and carefully review ALL the links regarding SSA info, the requisite (2-page) 2019 SSA nomination form, the format of SSA assessments and related standards, FAQs, etc. Completed SSA nomination forms will ONLY be accepted during your track's 10-day designated window; please adhere to the dates. (The Nomination Windows for Tracks 1&2 have closed.) The same SSA info can also be found on the school's homepage (https://www.wcpss.net/hollyspringses) and http://bit.ly/HSESAIG (access code AIG).

Teacher Letters

We welcome letters from parents who wish to inform us of the needs (strengths, characteristics, etc.) of their child for the 2019-2020 school year. As we are unable to meet with each parent, this is a great way to share information about your child and help with placement for next year. We ask that you not mention a particular teacher’s name, since we will not be able to honor individual teacher requests. All letters should be provided to HSES in a sealed envelope addressed to Ms. Clark by May 17th.

EOG Testing Dates

The End of Grade (EOG) testing dates for 2019 are listed below. Please make every effort to ensure that your students are present on these dates. In order to maintain a quiet testing environment, and due to the number of staff utilized for testing, we do ask that families not come in for lunch on testing days and that volunteering is limited. We appreciate your help with this!
