Grocery Shopping Decoded
at Trader Joe's
Trader Joe’s is looking to make it easier for people with autism and intellectual disabilities to shop in its grocery stores. They've partnered with the life-skills app MagnusCards, which has an ever-expanding life skills library that provides digital guides to daily activities and community locations. The MagnusCards app has developed five different “card decks” specifically for Trader Joe's, including “checking out your items” and “sensory experiences in the store,”. Each provides visual cues, step-by-step instructions and audio to walk users through tasks. The MagnusCards app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The Trader Joe’s card decks are located in the app’s “shopping” section.
