Town of Sunnyvale - June 6, 2021

CERT is coming to Sunnyvale!

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. The program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness and gets them ready for hazards that may impact their communities. CERT Training courses focus on basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks.

Team members are only expected to attend three events/trainings/drills per year, with one of them being a public event to stay on the active call-out list. We have events going on all year, and assisting a public event counts as two. Keeping your skills up is essential!

The fist step to joining Sunnyvale's CERT Team is to attend training. We need you!
