Dining for Dollars, Dining for Scholars Fundraiser - Tuesday, 11/20
We know you're working hard to plan, prepare, and prep for all of the cooking for family and friends on Thursday. So, why stress yourself out worrying about what everyone should eat now?
Come out to the Steeplechase Chick-fil-A on Tuesday, November 20th from 4-8 p.m. for our first "Dining for Dollars, Dining for Scholars" fundraiser. Twenty percent of every dollar spent INSIDE of the restaurant will be donated to The SEED PCS in support of school field trips and classroom supplies.

Thanksgiving Break - 11/21-23
In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday season, there will be an early check-out on Tuesday, November 20th. Check-out will occur as normal, 3:30-6:00 p.m.
Scholars are expected to check-in at their regularly scheduled times on Sunday, November 25th:
MS Scholars: 7:00-8:00 p.m.
HS Scholars: 8:00-9:00 p.m.

Student Life Touch Point - Sunday, 11/25
Families, when you check-in your scholar on Sunday, 11/25, please take a moment to come inside the residence hall to touch base with the Student Life Counselor on your child's floor.
Check-in is 7-8 p.m. for middle school scholars and 8-9 p.m. for high school scholars.
The Student Life faculty are looking forward to seeing you after the holiday.
Varsity Cheer Practice - 11/25
Attention Varsity Cheer Squad:
Mandatory practice will be held Sunday, November 25th, 5 p.m. Shake off that "turkey coma" & make your way to practice!

MSA Survey - We Need to Hear from Y-O-U!!!
Your input, your opinion, YOUR VOICE matters to us. We need to hear from Y-O-U! The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, but it will be worth it. Please set aside some time before November 30th to complete the survey.
If you're coming to the school, feel free to come to the FACE Office to complete it while you're here. There will also be electronic devices available in the lobby. As the receptionist so you can complete the survey while you wait.

School Calendar Update
The professional development day will be Friday, January 18, 2019. School will be closed for all scholars. Early check-out will be Thursday, January 17, 2019 @ 3:30 p.m.

Family Volunteers Needed
The available times are Sundays, Mondays, & Fridays for any two hour window, 6-8 p.m. (excluding Nov. 23rd, 25th, 26th , 30th and Dec 2nd , 3rd, 7th , 17th 24th–31st)
Volunteers are also need for:
- Dinner duty support (Mon-Thurs 5:00-7:00 p.m.)
- School store support (Mon-Thurs 5:00-8:00p.m.)
- Hallway supervision (Mon-Thurs 4:00-9:00p.m.)
- Check-in (7-9 p.m.)
- Check-out (3:30-5:30 p.m.)
- Holiday decorating between Nov 25-Dec 9th

Winter Holiday Choir Concert - 12/13/18, 2 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon of musical enjoyment at our annual Winter Holiday Choir Concert on December 13th @ 2 p.m.
The choir has been working hard all semester for this event. Please come and show your support for our school choir.
Families: Please note that the music class is required to perform. The attire requirements for all participating choir members are as follows:
Girls: All black dress or black skirt and black or white top/NO PANTS, NO SNEAKERS
Boys: Black slacks or dress pants, black shoes, white dress shirt and black tie; NO SNEAKERS
ATTN: Grades 10-12: SAT/ACT Prep Classes - 11/3-12/1/18

Community Service - 2019 Conservation Leadership Corps
Join the Student Conservation Association’s 2019 Conservation Leadership Corps!
SCA’s DC CLC will have several crews with high school members, age 15-19, working in parks across the DC area. In the past CLC crews have worked in Rock Creek National Park, Fort DuPont National Park, Montgomery County Parks, Howard County Parks, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Greenbelt National Park.
The program runs one weekend a month from January through May 2019. At the end of the program students will have obtain valuable work-skills and green job trainings, worked in beautiful outdoor setting, made lifelong friends and received 100 hours of volunteer service.

M.E.T.E.O.R. Experiential Research Project - Rising Juniors Only
METEOR provides talented students high school students the opportunity to participate in an experiential research project at Children’s National Medical Center and its Children’s Research Institute. This eight week summer experience is designed to encourage students to take the required steps toward careers in STEM and biomedical research fields.
