From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
Don't forget that the "Glow" Dance start tonight at 6:30.
The MPH Family Fun Fest is tomorrow! We are still in need of volunteers! Please consider helping out at the event!
It has been brought to our attention that MQSCA is celebrating 20 years as a school this year! We will be celebrating this occasion at the 2nd Annual Sip "Cheers to 20 Years". We are looking for more volunteers to join the Sip and Support Committee to help plan this occasion! Please email Mr. Lee at leen@mqscateacher.org or Simone at gaspars@mqscateacher.org.
We started MAP testing this last week. We will continue to MAP test this next week. Please make sure you child gets plenty of rest and a good meal before school. MAP testing is for grades K5-8th grade!
Christ-
Mr. Lee
Catholic Schools Walk
The Catholic Schools Walk is approaching. We are going to have the walk during the school day at the end of the day. We have not finalized the date, but know it will be a blast. We encourage families to come and enjoy the day!
This year, the money will go towards a second water bottle filling water fountain. As you know we won a grant from Delta Dental to have one installed, and it will be installed hopefully sometime in October or November. We are hoping to add a second along with it, unfortunately with the electrical, plumbing and installation cost, and the cost of the unit itself, it is about $6,000.00 total. Please make an effort to join our MQS team and raise as much as you can to off set this cost!
8th grade: High School Transition Info
Although we just started the school year, it's important to start looking into applications for high schools. The process for applying to high schools is starting now and deadlines will be approaching within the next couple months.
Check out the MQSCA HS Transition Portal where there will be all the info you need in one location! Updates will be made throughout the year as needed.
I will also be hosting office hours for 8th grade parents on September 18th and 27th from 3:30-4:30 PM to go over some information on open houses and provide an opportunity to start the application process for different schools.
Drop off and Pick up Procedures
Please follow our drop off and pick up procedures, they make everyone's life easier.
A couple key details to make drop off and pick up safe and fast.
- Drop Off
- Use the express drop off line only if your child can get out of the car on their own.
- Use parking spaces if your child needs assistance. Parents should not get out of the car in the express line.
- Please give right away to those walking into the building from the parking spaces.
- Enter the parking lot at the two north entrances only. All traffic exits from the south. Please do not drive in the exit or drive through the parking lot to exit on the north ends of the parking lot.
- Teachers are allowed to enter the parking lot on the south to go to their parking spaces.
- Pick Up/Dismissal:
- No parking along the north end of the school, that is the entrance and exit for the parking, parish staff can park to one side.
- Please have your car in a parking space before children enter your car, do not stop and allow children in if you are in the driving areas of parking lot, it impedes traffic. Your time is not more valuable than anyone else's.
- K3/K4 students are picked up in the front of the school, walk up and your child will be handed to you. We will not let your child go to you unless you are right by the front doors.
Please see the maps below for visual.

Here is the link to the Back to School forms including the video and photo release form, cell phone policy form, and the dismissal permission form. If you have not filled these forms out, please do so. Students who have cell phones with out the consent form, and acknowledgement that it needs to be turned into the office, will have phones confiscated.

There will be four food trucks, music and an area to purchase beverages. Please sign up to help the school and parish, the school is looking for volunteers to help with the bounce houses first!

Seton Value: Community
Saint of the Week: St. Matthew the Apostle
Virtue of the Week: Encouraging
Feast Day:
Scripture of the Week:
"I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Jn 16:33
Prayer of the Week:
I pray for my friend right now. I pray that you will help them with the struggles they are going through in this season. For you know exactly what they need in this moment. Draw near to them and let them feel your presence. Open their eyes, ears, and hearts to you. Help them have the discernment to hear your voice as you lead them in their next steps. Speak to them as they read your word and bring verses of encouragement and comfort to their attention. I pray that you will calm any fear or anxiety they may be feeling. Replace it with the confidence to obey your word and to trust you. I pray that your guidance will be clear to them from this day forward. In your name, I pray. Amen.

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Simone Gaspar if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
