SHS Professional Career Internship Class
Students in the Professional Career Internship class completed their internships last week. To wrap up their experience, they hosted a Mentor Breakfast on Tuesday, Dec. 15. Students made breakfast for all of the mentors who allowed them to intern with them first semester. After breakfast, students introduced their mentors and explained about their experiences.
Businesses who took interns under their wing this semester were: ILPEA Industries, Southern Indiana Equine, Scott County Sheriff Department, Scottsburg Elementary, Vienna-Finley Elementary, Murphy’s Boot Shop and Repair, Southern Indiana Physical Therapy, Total Concepts of Design, Scott Memorial Hospital, Hello Beautiful, ISU- Insurance & Investment Group, Hampton Oaks, Lake Pointe Village, Reardon & Company PC CPAs, Austin Tri-Hawk Automotive, and Vision First.
The internship class is open to seniors who have maintained a 2.5 GPA and who would like to gain experience in a professional career before attending college. It is a two period class available during each semeser. During the semester students will gain a minimum of 50 hours at their internship as well as meet in class. Class topics include interviews, resumes, college planning, scholarship applications, professional attributes in the business world and other topics.

SHS Maverick Challenge Results
The group of boys began developing a business called Phantom Armor. They will be competing against the top two teams from Austin High School in January and the winner from that round will move to the regional competition in Columbus later in the Spring.

Warrior Wrestling Wins MSC Duals
This past weekend the Warrior Wrestling team traveled to Charlestown for the Mid-Southern Conference Duals. We had never won this meet before, until Saturday.
SHS Wrestling won the MSC Duals for the first time in the long history of our Wrestling program and the Conference. Congratulations to our student athletes for this achievement!

The student council conducted elections for this year's homecoming court. Homecoming is January 7th and 8th. The Warriorettes play on the 7th and the Warriors take the court on the following night.
