CMS Chili Cook-Off - November 10th, 6pm to 8pm
Are you ready? Here's what you need to know!
Tickets: Advanced tickets to enter the Chili Cook-Off are only $10. These sales end on November 9th. Any tickets purchased online or at the door on November 10th are $12. In addition to entry tickets, we are also selling Fun Zone and Prize Drawing tickets. Fun Zone tickets are for activities, drinks, and treats. Most things cost between 1 and 5 tickets, so make sure you buy enough for your whole family. Prize Drawing Tickets enter you into our fabulous prize drawing. The grand prize is a 65" TV!
Another reason to buy your tickets in advance: We have streamlined our entry process this year. Everyone who purchases their tickets online before Nov 10th will be able to enter through the advance ticket sales line.
Silent Auction: Our silent auction goes live this Friday. We have amazing items to bid on, as well as fun and exciting experiences for our students. Remember, the is the Chili Cook-Off is our one big fundraiser of the year so make sure to get those bids in!
Want to save $$$? We still have volunteer shifts to fill. Every volunteer earns a free entry to the event. Shifts have been broken up so that you can work, yet still have time to enjoy the festivities.
Community Offerings
Did you know that we have food, clothing, and shoes for students and families?
Students can stop by Mr. Robles's room (171) throughout the day to pick up food and clothing to take home. This room is also available to the Creighton Community. If you are in need of additional clothes (jackets, boots, shoes) or food, please stop by and we can see if we have sizes requested. Just let the main office know you’re here and we can assist you!
STUDENT ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL
School Hours:
8:30 AM - Students are permitted to enter the building.
8:30 AM - Staff reports to assigned morning duty stations.
8:54 AM - 1st period begins
3:55 PM - Students are dismissed – staff reports to assigned afternoon duty
4:15 PM - Students are off school grounds
Students must not arrive at school before 8:30 AM except for a scheduled appointment with a staff member. We are not able to provide supervision before 8:30 AM. To ensure your children’s safety, please be sure they do not arrive at school before 8:30 AM. The school District and/or school assumes NO responsibility for students who arrive before 8:30 AM.
CMS Community Food Pantry
The community food pantry before Fall Break was a success! The next food pantry will be before Thanksgiving Break on Friday, November 17th, after school.
We will have tables set up in the front and back of the school. This is for ALL of the CMS community, feel free to come grab food for your students to have during the break. We don’t have a lot of bags to put food in so please bring your own bags. We look forward to to seeing you there!
Do You Want Your Student To Be in the Creighton Yearbook?
The CMS Yearbook Student Yearbook Staff works hard to put together the school yearbook. But they need your help! If your student participates in:
- Sports
- Outdoor activities
- Volunteer events
- Dance/cheer/gymnastics
- Theatre
Please submit photos of your student to the yearbook!
Here's how:
- Go to the HJ eShare website or app (On Google Play / Apple)
- Type in "Creighton" for the school code
- Upload your photo(s)
- Fill out the prompts, including the student's name, grade, keywords, and what they are doing in the photo
Pre-order a yearbook today! Yearbooks can be purchased for $25 in the Optional Fees tab in your student's Infinite Campus. Students will NOT be able to buy a yearbook on the last day of school.
FREE Family Night at CCU
What: Colorado Christian University Men's Basketball Game. There will be a special half-time event just for Creighton families.
When: Friday, November 17th at 5pm
Where: CCU Event Center at 8787 W. Alameda Avenue Lakewood, CO
Cost: FREE!

18th Annual LaTEENa Conference and Advanced Leadership Symposium
Latina students can participate in interactive workshops and presentations led by successful Colorado Latina professionals. Sessions will include the following topics:
- Leadership
- Personal Development
- Financial Literacy
- Artistic Expression
- Healthy Lifestyle Choices
- Critical Skills
- College preparation
Join us at Regis University on November 4th from 8:30 to 4:30. Middle school, high school, and college-aged Latina students are welcome. The cost of the event is $15. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.

A ship called the San Rosa sails from Rio de Janeiro to Marbella, Spain. The ship carries enough lumber to build a whole new ship. Over the course of the voyage, the crew replaces each part of the ship with the spare lumber, then throws the old planks overboard. Is the San Rosa that arrives in Marbella the same ship that left Rio or a different ship?
