News from the Principal
This will be my final newsletter as we close out the 2021/2022 school year in a few days.
A final farewell and good luck to our graduating 8th graders as they move into summer, and begin the transition to high school. A restful and enjoyable summer for our 7th graders as they prepare to be the leaders of our school for the 2022/23 school year.
For our returning families; please be sure to register for the 22/23 school year. Information and directions for completing registration through Infinite Campus are provided below.
I cannot thank you enough for your patience, flexibility and understanding over the past year as we navigated through multiple changes together. I hope that your family stays well and is able to enjoy time together this summer, whatever that may look like. Our staff is grateful and appreciative for the continued flexibility, understanding, partnership and ability to work together through these challenging times. Your continued support, feedback, and communication was essential in getting through this, and helping us to meet the daily needs of our students. We continue to look for opportunities to grow and improve, and to be there for our students and families in any situation.
Although we are heading into the summer months and the school may be closed, I will continue to be available by email. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I can be reached at dietzj@ccsd15.net.
As always, thanks for your continued support of our school, students, and staff!
I hope that you have a wonderful summer.
All the Best! #sundlingstrong #strongertogether
Take care and stay well.
Sincerely,
Jason Dietz
Principal

8th Grade Only- Chromebook Collection!
As the end of the school year approaches, please begin making preparations to return the District 15 issued Chromebook and charger. These items will be collected on the morning of Tuesday, May 31st. Each of you will keep the protective case.
Please prepare for the Chromebook collection day in advance by:
- Bringing your Chromebook to the Library if it is damaged or not working properly so that it can be evaluated and sent in for repairs;
- Saving any material that you have created in your District 15 Google account that you would be interested in keeping on a personal flash drive or use Google Take Out.
- Removing any stickers that you have added to the Chromebook.
In the event that the Chromebook or charger has been damaged, you may be assessed a fee for repair or replacement.
If you were issued a hotspot, please bring the hotspot to return as well. Hotspots should be returned to the school. Hotspots will be deactivated and no longer work on June 6th, 2022.
Yearbooks for 8th Graders
8th Grade yearbook distribution is set for Friday 5/27 during 1st period. Students who pre-ordered a yearbook will have it delivered via homeroom teachers. We have a small number of extras for sale for $20.00. Students who wish to purchase a yearbook will do so on Friday 5/27 at 9:30 am in the Sundling office until we are sold out. If there are any remaining yearbooks, they will be made available for sale to 7th graders on Thursday June 2nd after yearbooks have been delivered to 7th graders who pre-ordered.
Notes from the Nurse
If your child has medications in the health office they will need to be picked up. Medication refers to any medication including prescription medications, inhalers, epinephrine pens, diabetes supplies and over-the-counter (non-prescription) medication.
Please come to the school health office to pick up your remaining medication and/or medical supplies. Medications are not allowed to be sent home with the students.
The last day of school is Friday, June 3rd.
All medication left in school after Friday, June 3rd of this year will be destroyed.
Notes from our PTA President
To our Sundling Family:
It has been a great honor serving as your PTA President. While the beginning of the school year began on shaky ground, we quickly gained momentum having created several new activities which will hopefully become traditions. We were able to safely provide opportunities for students to have fun, contribute to the Palatine community and recognize our amazing teachers and staff. I truly appreciate all of your flexibility and understanding as we planned, canceled, revamped and then successfully hosted events. We are still looking for a few Palatine parents who can share their talents on our vacant committees. Some are "one and done" activities and some can be done from home. Please take a look at the attachment and let us know where you can help! Thank you!
Congratulations to our incoming Executive Board:
President: Betsy Gharagozlou
President Elect: open
First VP/Legislation: Dana Batterton
Treasurer: Rachel Jordan
Secretary: open
Finally a HUGE thank you to this year's PTA Board and staff! I truly appreciate the gifts and talents that you've chosen to share with Sundling Jr High! For the 7th grade families who are returning this fall, you will be in great hands with Betsy! She is a truly seasoned PTA leader, enthusiastic, thoughtful and excited about leading us through another great year!
Congrats to the 8th grade Class of 2022!! Have a wonderful summer and enjoy your journey into high school!
Best Wishes,
Elsa Hall

District 15 Online Registration
Online student registration for the 2022-23 school year is now open. If you have not already started this process for your student(s), please visit our registration page to start this process.
Registration is the first step in getting ready for the up-coming school year. After you register your child online you need to:
Pay student fees. Our student fee webpage outlines the District’s student fee structure and the three ways fees can be paid.
If you have a student that is starting Kindergarten, entering fourth grade, or entering 7th grade, you are required to prove residency in District 15. Our residency webpage outlines the documents you will need to provide to prove residency.
All three steps of the enrollment process must be completed prior to the start of the school year. Students of families that, when required, do not prove residency, will not be able to attend class in a District 15 until the family’s residency is verified.
