November 2021
Filled with Gratitude
So many years of dreaming, planning, and collaborating resulted in the realization of so many projects in October. The "Accessibility Support Collection" was unveiled at the Arlington Heights Library, and we are so grateful not only for their collaboration on this project, but for their history of listening, partnering, and understanding our community. We hope that their collaboration will be an example for other local libraries, and with continued funding, we would love to support similar collections across Chicagoland.

We finally hosted our first round of VIP learning groups ("Valuing the insight of Parents") with motivated students, engaging discussions, and extremely positive feedback. We are so appreciative for all of the learners who signed up to be our very first C.I.T.Y. VIPs. These students are now listed on our C.I.T.Y. of Support website, and they will be the first to learn of new education opportunities. Some brand-new learning groups were just posted for December, and we will continue to update our website as new groups become available. We'd love for you to become a VIP Graduate too!
As an organization currently run entirely by volunteers, we depend on contributions from our community members to help sustain our efforts. Please consider C.I.T.Y. of Support as you plan ahead for Giving Tuesday (Nov. 30th) and year-end donations.
Your support impacts our entire community, and we would be so very grateful.

According to his parents:
"Our younger son, Sam, makes us so proud each and every day. He has to work 10 times harder to learn and do the things that come easily to most 8 year olds, but he never gives up! He has made so much progress over the years, especially in recent months. Sam’s favorite thing to do is to look at books, and to be read to. He loves all kinds of music, but his current favorite song is “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley, which is what we are dancing to in this photo."
You could be our next winner!
Comment on October's C.I.T.Y. Close-Up post in our Facebook Group featuring Sam by Wednesday night, November 10th at 11:59 pm for YOUR chance to win a photography session in December! A winner will be randomly selected and announced on Thursday,
November 11th. We love to celebrate successes with you (whatever they may be!).
Thank you, October Birthday Buddies!
Children whose parents signed them up to participate in this fun, FREE program, received a handmade birthday card in the mail from another child who receives therapy services. It's a fun way to make early social connections and celebrate everyone.
**Thank you to CCS Pediatric Therapy & Family Wellness for sponsoring our
October birthdays! The kids at your clinic did such a great job!**
The Grand Opening of the new "Accessibility Support Collection" at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library was featured on the front page of the Daily Herald. Read all about how the community celebrated the availability of this new, unique resource.
