Tornado Warning NewsLetter
March Edition
Principal's Message
Good Afternoon YHS Families
It’s hard to believe that we got to “Spring Forward” a couple of weekends ago. Time goes by way too fast! This past weekend felt like spring and then we had the opportunity to enjoy some of that infamous PNW liquid sunshine yesterday.
It has been awesome to observe the growth our students are making this year and we are looking forward to showcasing their growth later on this spring when many of our students sit for the SBA’s. If you have a 10th grade student, ask them about their SBA prep work in both English and Math!
We have watched leaders emerge and take on roles they would never have thought possible. I’m very proud of all of our ASB leaders, Board Reps and our SAC (superintendent advisory council) . Through sharing their voices we have reimagined what we want from Yelm High school. Our staff is continuing to look for opportunities to make this the best high school in Thurston County!
If you missed the recent musical production of "The Little Mermaid"...you truly missed out. I believe this was the BEST high school musical that I have ever seen! . The 2000+ community members that attended would agree! All but one show sold out. If you are connected to any of the cast and crew, please congratulate them and thank them for their amazing performances.
In May our students will showcase their talents once again when they present "CLUE" May 19 and 20, 2023. Tickets will go on sale through GoFan in early May.
Spring Break is also just around the corner—truly a time to do some “Spring Cleaning” and reflect on all the progress you have seen your student make this year. It is a great time to renew your energy to help your scholar have a great end of the school year. April and May go by so quickly. Please ask your scholar to share what has brought them joy at YHS this year.
Happy Spring

YHS Principal
