School Supply Pickup/Drop off
Kindergarten: If you pre-ordered school supplies, we will deliver them to your child's classroom when class placement is finalized.
If you are bringing your own school supplies, PK, 1st - 5th can bring those to Meet The Teacher! Kindergarten students, please bring your school supplies on Friday, Aug. 25th.
First Day of School
On the first day of school, all teachers will be out on the front lawn in designated areas to greet their students. For the safety and security of all students and staff, nobody will be entering the building.
PreK, Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grades will be spaced out on the north side of the front lawn. 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will be spaced out on the south side of the front lawn. There will be large signs to indicate each grade level location.
Dismissal
Please do not enter from the Douglas entrance, as that is our Bus and Daycare loop!
The car rider line WILL take a substantial amount of time at the beginning of the year. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we ensure all safety protocols are in place for your children.
PROCEDURES FOR DROP OFF, PICK UP, LATE CHECK IN, AND EARLY CHECK OUT
Our desire is for parent pick-up and drop-off to be as safe as possible for our students. Please note the following information:
Doors open and supervision begins at 8:50 in the morning. For the safety of your child, please have them remain in your vehicle until 8:50 am.
Every adult who is picking up a child before the dismissal bell must display a current driver’s license or government picture ID.
Early checkout ends at 3:30. There will be no checkouts after 3:30 to ensure a safe schoolwide dismissal.
Every adult picking up a child is required to have the Car Rider Plus car tag. Without a car tag, you will be asked to park and show your ID in the office. We cannot allow parents to walk up to pick up their student(s) per district procedures and due to limited parking.
ALL students will be dismissed from the inside of the school building.
Homeroom Parent Information
If you are interested in being a Homeroom Parent, sign-ups will be available on Back to School Night (BTSN) in your child's classroom. If you cannot attend BTSN in person, you will be able to sign up via a link sent from your teacher in their Friday, August 25th newsletter email. By signing up, you are putting your name into the drawing. The sign-up will close Tuesday, August 29th, and ONE name will be drawn per class. Communication will be sent to the person drawn no later than Friday, September 1st. If you have more than one child attending Redbud, you can put your name in the drawing for each child; however, if your name is drawn more than once, you will only be able to choose one classroom to represent and a new name will be drawn for the other.

Student technology protection plan
All PK - 12th grade students will be issued a district device to use for learning this year. At times, PK - 2nd grade students may be given the option to take their district issued device home with them to use, but they will mostly use their device in the classroom. In grades 3rd - 5th, students may be required to take their devices home more often. All 6th - 12th grade students will be required to take their devices home each day.
All devices have a case to prevent accidental damage, however we strongly recommend that families purchase the $25/year Student Technology Protection Plan (STPP) for each student.
Parents/Guardians will be financially responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged Chromebooks and/or iPads, as well as chargers and cases. This plan covers your student’s device at school and outside of school. You may pay for the STPP online via our InTouch payment system. If you have difficulties using the payment portal, these directions should be able to help. The last day to purchase this coverage is Friday, September 22, 2023.
