CCR Spring Update
6th Grade Visits to Junior High Campuses
What are the halls like during passing periods? How do students find 8 different classes every day? How does lunch work? What is a Pre-AP class? How is athletics different from PE? How do students sign up for AVID? To answer these questions and many more, 6th graders will take a field trip to the feeder junior high campus in their attendance area during the month of January.
During their visit, they will get to learn more about the junior high experience. They will meet teachers and students, visit classes, experience passing periods, visit the lunchroom, and learn more about AVID and other elective courses that are found at the junior high campus.
When elementary students leave their junior high visit, we want them to have a better idea of what 7th grade will look like next year and what kinds of classes they will want to sign up for with their counselor later in the spring.
