Riding the bus
1. Please remind your child that riding the bus is a privilege and not a right. If students are misbehaving on the bus, putting themselves and others in unsafe situations or are riding the wrong bus they can be suspended off of the bus and it will be the parents responsibility to transport their child to school.
2. Even though a bus stop on another bus may be closer to your house, you have to ride the bus that is assigned to you.
3. Students cannot request to ride a different bus to go to a friends house after school. If a child is having a sleep over during the week they cannot get on the bus of the child who's house they slept at. Our buses are already close to full, we cannot take students on buses that they are not assigned to.

8th grade dues
Greetings Families,
It is never too soon to start thinking about the end of the school year, and how we want to celebrate your students' successes. The promotion to high school is an important transition for every student's academics as well as their personal lives. To do this well and to honor their hard work, it takes some planning.
Our end of year celebrations typically include an end of year slideshow, yearbook distribution and signing, 8th grade dance. This year we are planning to also include an 8th grade activity whether it be a field trip or a bbq of some kind.
To execute these plans we are asking for families to contribute to these activities by way of 8th grade dues. (These dues will cover all costs for your 8th grader)
The cost will be $50 per student
Costs will cover the Yearbook, 8th grade dance, and the 8th grade activity
The total cost can be made via Payments over three installments.
1st installment can be made by November 17th
2nd installment can be made by February 16th
3rd installment can be made by May 3rd
Checks can be made out to McLaughlin Middle School or cash in the exact amount can be dropped off to Mr. Williams in room #182 during advisory time.
If the payment of these dues will cause a hardship and you are not able complete the payment all at once or over the 3 installments please reach out to Mr. Williams at mwilliams@mansd.org.
If you are a family that is willing and able to sponsor another child we are more than happy to accept donations. Please reach out to Mr. Williams at mwilliams@mansd.org.
