Why do core values matter?: Core values serve as a moral compass that guide us and help us know and understand who we are. Through our core values of ARMOR, we know what is expected of us and how we are to conduct ourselves.
How and when will we use core values?: We will use our core values of ARMOR on a daily basis. ARMOR is our shield and code of conduct. We will celebrate and recognize each other every day for living up to our core values of ARMOR!
What does ARMOR stand for?: ARMOR stands for Adaptable, Respectful, Motivated, Optimistic and Responsible. When you show ARMOR, you are living up to our values!

Band & Choir at Vikan
Attention Vikan Community:
We are excited to announce that Vikan Middle School will be offering Band and Choir starting next year (2022-2023). Please click HERE to access the form and sign your Knight up for it.
In band class, you'll have the opportunity to learn a number of instruments and play a ton of different types of music in an ensemble. We perform at concerts, competitions, festivals, and have the chance to go on several awesome field trips.
Similar to band, choir gives you the opportunity to perform many different types of music. But instead of learning an instrument, you learn to improve your singing ability by singing with a large group of students! We'll perform concerts, compete with the choirs of other schools, and go on other music related field trips.
Please know that additional fees will be attached to these classes. HERE is the form again. Sign up soon.
Take care Vikan!
Nutrition Services for 2022-2023
Breakfast and Lunch Service for next school year will no longer be free. In August, breakfast will cost $2.25 and lunch will cost $3.75 for middle school students. Should your family need assistance with this, you can start the application process now through Pay Schools Central
We are still in the process of finalizing our schedules. We will not be able to give you access to your schedule until the first day of school. We are working diligently to make sure your schedule is ready on your first day of school. Thank you for your understanding Knights!
Nutrition Services for 2022-2023
Important Reminder from Vikan's Health Office
Because your child will be in middle school next year, we want to let you know they will be required to have a Tdap vaccine before the first day of school in August. Per state guidelines and laws and in accordance with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), all students entering 6th grade must have a Tdap, regardless of age.
Please remember to bring an updated immunization record prior to the start of the school year in August of 2022. All students must be up to date to avoid exclusion from school during the school year.
Please schedule your student for physicals over the summer to update immunizations, sign medication authorizations for medication at school, health care plans needed, and fill out Sport Physical forms if your student will be participating in sports for the 2022-2023 school year. Students WILL NOT be allowed to participate in sports or be given medication at school until the proper paperwork is done and turned into the office. Appointments are filling up fast, so please schedule your doctors appointments as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Gloria Wertz at 303-655-4103 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
