District releases COVID reporting dashboard
In accordance with applicable laws, Lake Travis ISD officials must notify the local health authority and the Texas Education Agency of an individual who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. The purpose of this dashboard is to provide our staff and families with transparent communication. A positive case indicates that a staff member or student who was onsite in a district facility has tested positive for COVID-19. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until the school nurse verifies that the individual meets the return criteria set by local and state health authorities. Once the individual is cleared to return, their case is removed from the dashboard.
The dashboard is posted on our website and will be updated weekly.
District shares process for requesting a change in student instructional status
As we approach the midway point of the first grading period of the 2020-2021 school year, we would like to remind you of the learning options you have available to best support your children.
Specifically, students currently in remote learning at home may switch to in-person learning at school only at the beginning of each grading period. Conversely, a student who is currently at school for in-person learning on campus may revert to remote learning at home at any time.
To prepare for the next grading period which begins Tuesday, October 13, parents are asked to make the appropriate selection using the Instructional Status Change Form posted on our website before Thursday, September 24. If you will not be making a change to your child’s current instructional status, no action is required.
A listing of Frequently Asked Questions and other resources regarding our learning options are available on the School Year 2020-2021: Learning. Transformed section of our website.

After school Enrichment goes virtual, expands to secondary students
In an effort to minimize person-to-person contact yet continue to provide learning opportunities for students, we will offer our Fall 2020 After School Enrichment Program completely online. Taught by LTISD staff members and external contractors, enrichment classes are great opportunities for students to supplement their instructional day through fun and unique activities. Please note, enrichment courses are optional.
Additionally, we are excited to announce the expansion of our Enrichment Program to secondary students. Art, cooking, dance, fitness, mindfulness, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math—or STEM are just a few of the classes available to students in K-12. Registration is open through September 27.
For more information about our Fall Enrichment program, visit our Enrichment web page. You may also contact Stephanie Budai, Community Programs Coordinator, at communityprograms@ltisdschools.org, or at 512-533-6011.

The tournament will be held on October 5 at the Barton Creek Country Club - Palmer Lakeside Course on Lake Travis in Spicewood. This will be a "Split Tee" tournament with designated morning and afternoon tee times. There will be plenty of fun prizes as well as breakfast from Hat Creek Burger Company, lunch courtesy of Chick-Fil-A, and a barbecue dinner. For the safety of all participants, the event will conclude with a virtual awards ceremony.

A+ FCU presents check for cash back program
Representatives from A+ Federal Credit Union recently hand-delivered a ceremonial check in the amount of $7,500 to Paul Norton, LTISD Superintendent of Schools, and Katie Kauffman, LTISD Director of Development and Corporate Relations, as part of the Lake Travis ISD Visa Debit Card Cash Back Program.
This is the fifth year of the partnership. In August 2016, A+FCU and LTISD launched a student-designed card that rewards the district when A+FCU customers make purchases using the LT debit card. Donations are made each quarter, and the amount varies based on customer use of the card. The custom card is available through the Cash-Back Checking program at the A+FCU branch in Bee Cave.
LTEF concludes employee campaign, launches community giving
The Board of Directors of the Lake Travis Education Foundation recently concluded its annual Lake Travis ISD Employee Giving Campaign and is pleased to announce 600 employees committed pledges amounting to approximately $40,000.
"We are blown away by the support," said Katie Kauffman, LTEF Executive Director. "We feel it is important to start here and show the community that we first invest and believe in our schools before we can ask our parents and families to invest and believe in us. Next week, we will launch our LTEF Monthly Giving Drive. We encourage our parents and families to consider making a monthly pledge to the Lake Travis Education Foundation. When we come together to support excellence in our schools, incredible opportunities are created for our students."
This year may look different, however, the mission and need of the Lake Travis Education Foundation remains the same: to provide financial resources to improve and support an exemplary education for all students of the Lake Travis Independent School District.
Watch for more information soon. In the meantime, follow LTEF on Facebook and visit the LTEF website.
