Monday Minutes

September 17, 2018

Happy Monday!

It's hard to believe that we are halfway into our first nine weeks of school! We are rocking and rolling with curriculum, have had our first extended planning day, and have established routines in our classrooms, grade levels, and building. Sometimes as we are cruising along, though, we hit little bumps in the road. I want to encourage you to take a pause when you hit that bump in the road. Little flare ups of student misbehavior will happen, and addressing them promptly will save you time in the long run. Changes in routine have to be taught (such as the great Chromebook delivery of 2018), and it's definitely worth it to take the time to do it right.

I want to stress to you how much Bryan and I enjoy being in your classrooms. In fact, classrooms are our favorite place. Thank you for always being so welcoming! Our second favorite place is in your planning meetings. We love listening to your conversations about curriculum, instruction, and students. We sincerely hope that we contribute to those conversations in a positive way. We have learned so much with you and know that we will continue to do so. Our goal is to partner with you for student success. Planning for instruction using the planning protocol is challenging, and we want to support you in the process! Thank you for all that you do.

A quick reminder about morning duty! Please be at your spot by 7:20. Here is the schedule for the next few weeks. It is also posted in the lounge.
