As we enter the holiday season, I am thankful we are continuing in-person instruction and grateful that our students, staff, and community members are safe and healthy. I am also grateful to have our educational partners back on our campus.

We started the month off with a Dia De Los Muertos celebration. Our students, staff, and parents created beautiful altars with marigolds, flowers, and other tokens as a way of honoring and expressing appreciation for our departed loved ones. It was a beautiful celebration!

We will be completing the first trimester of the year on Thursday, November 9th and Veteran's Day is Friday, November 10th. Thank you to all who have served and are serving in our nation's armed forces! The school will be closed to honor this important holiday.

Thanksgiving Break will be from November 20th to November 24th. Bard School will begin hosting Parent and Teacher Conferences immediately following the break. Your student's teacher will contact you to set up a conference. We will do our best to accommodate your family's schedule and needs.

We are happy to inform you that Bard Elementary will begin the process of having Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems installed in every Bard classroom. Although this is welcome news, the installation process will come with its challenges, most notably, a disruption to the flow of traffic on and around our campus.

Therefore, for the duration of our HVAC project, we will maintain both drop-off and pick-up areas at the front and side parking lots of the school. Keeping both drop-off/pick-up areas open will alleviate traffic congestion for the remainder of this school year.

The HVAC project will begin during our winter break and is expected to be completed at the end of summer 2024. During this time, we ask for your patience, cooperation, and grace.

Breakfast and lunch are available to all students at no cost. Breakfast is served at 7:30 am.

Grades 1st through 5th Parents,

As we complete the first trimester, our first Parent/Teacher conferences will take place after the Thanksgiving Break. Your student's teacher will be available to address any concerns or questions you might have at this point in the year. Please try your best to attend and take this opportunity to visit the school to review your child's progress.

Parent Conferences for grades 1st-5th will take place from November 28 through December 9.

During these two weeks, all classes will be on the minimum day schedule (See Below).

Parent Conference Minimum Day Schedule (Except For Wednesdays)

GRADES TK-K- 8:00AM-12:07

GRADES 1-3 - 8:00am-1:20pm / No PM Recess

GRADES 4 & 5 - 8:00am-1:40pm / No PM Recess

If your child is absent, please call the school and report the absence to our attendance clerk. To excuse an absence, please bring or email doctor's notes or necessary documentation to the school office.
