Thoughts on working with Nicole

…I just got off the phone with Nicole Lee who coached me on an uncomfortable situation in my personal life when I had the chance to teach someone about racism and stereotype but I opted out of confronting them.

Nicole framed my response in the best way: she said in your work you have to be highly empathetic to help people like you do… But you need to have a balance and a choice that you don’t always have to be that person in your personal life…You gotta know when to turn off.

Nicole–thank you, thank you, thank you.

-Ericka Hines, Every Level Leadership

Nicole is highly skilled at leading constructive, respectful discussions on controversial issues. She is also very good at helping others develop the empathy and strategy they need to discuss issues they care about with people who care about them differently. I regularly prepare for difficult meetings by channeling my inner Nicole–her advice and strategies invariably make the discussions more enjoyable and productive.
