Extra Points : Coach Pomazak's Message

Stars Football Family -

I hope your family found time to spend together over this labor day weekend. Whether you were catching up on life like I was or just relaxing in the backyard, it is always nice to take a few extra moments off.

I want to lead by saying thank you to our parent group and Cover 4 group for making our first home game a huge success. Your efforts allowed us to have over 200 youth football players run through the fog and enjoy the game. The feedback has been positive, and it is because of you! This past weekend we had a mixed bag of emotions with our Frosh and Soph levels coming up just short of victory. Our varsity got back on track with a huge win over a talented Lake Zurich team. This morning our JVD went to 2-0 and remains unscored upon after their 20-0 victory over WWS. Win or lose; I saw our players improve. Success is not always kept in wins and losses. I was very pleased to see our freshman compete for four quarters. While they could have stopped playing, they chose to keep fighting and were able to score late in the game. That is the mark of a great team. Our sophomores did much of the same, with two freshmen playing up, connecting for a big touchdown. We talk about our response and relentless effort in the St. Charles North Football program. These young men should be proud of their efforts. Better days ahead for them that is for sure.

Finally, as we move into week 3, I invite you to come to the stadium this Friday as our Stars hit the gridiron to open up their Dukane Conference schedule against the Tigers of Wheaton South. A storied program that will travel well! I challenge the STC community to make North the place to be on Friday night at 7 pm. Please wear yellow as we support Cal's Angel's and pediatric cancer.

Every Thursday, our program prioritizes the first 20 minutes of practice to a program connection. We call it Program Day, and during that time, we highlight each level and talk about our journey. Our captains deliver a message for the week and our coaches have an open mic to discuss anything that they feel is relatable to the week. It is always a very special time and one I cherish as an opportunity to connect our program. Here are some highlights
