New Car Tag System

Dear BG Families,

In our ongoing efforts to make our pick-up more efficient, we will be starting a car tag system. We believe this new system will significantly help us to streamline our dismissal process, rain or shine.

Each family will be receiving one tag initially. These tags will be sent home with your eldest BG student. Tags will be sent home to all families, even if your student(s) are bussers, walkers, or attend Baker Station. Please keep this tag in your car for the occasions when you might be picking your child(ren) up from school.

Please place your car tag on passenger side visor, or passenger side window, visible to the BG staff who are supervising dismissal.

We sincerely believe this will further assist in expediting our dismissal process. We love to “beat the clock” every afternoon, so this is our little way of helping us meet our goal of dismissal in under 10min.

ASE IS HERE!!!! You should have received an email from the school yesterday regarding all the details for ASE. Tonight registration begins for the first week of ASE - February 8-11th. Registration will begin at tonight (Wed 1/27) at 8pm and close on Monday, February 1st, at 8pm. Click here to get to registration site. Please read the details for each class/experience carefully on our class list/description. Click here to see the class list and description for week 1. This list will change each week as new classes are scheduled.

One last way to view our class list is on a calendar list format. Click Here to View Calendar View. This is Week 1 only. No links to class descriptions are on this calendar, but you can see what is happening each day, what time, what grade levels.

Last Chance to PrePay for School Pictures

Today was picture day. The prepay site closes tomorrow, Jan. 28 to process orders. The School Event Code is 10046401. If you miss prepaying, you will have a chance to order pictures with your child's Ticket Code which will be delivered about 4 weeks after picture day. Additional information can be found below.

All Kindergarten, Second grade, or New to Illinois Students need to have an updated dental form on file. Any exam dated 2/15/20 or later can be used. You can have the dentist's office fax the forms to 331-228-2101 or email them to

3rd graders need to have an updated Health Survey form on file.

You can find both forms on the district website under Health Services. Please call if you have any questions or concerns.

In-Person & Remote Attendance Line

Absences should be called in by 7:45 AM if your child will be absent for any portion of the day. The number is 331-228-2100 and has voicemail. You can call during the evening or overnight and leave a message. Please leave your child’s name, their teachers name and the reason why your child is out. If they are ill, please indicate their symptoms.

District 303 Community Preschool Program Annual Registration Lottery Closes 2/2

The District 303 Community Preschool Program will be conducting its annual registration lottery. Enrollment will be offered online from January 19 to February 2, 2021. Two informational meetings will be offered via Zoom for all interested community families who reside in District 303. The lottery enrollment link and informational meeting's registration link can be found on the District website on the Early Childhood page. Please note, in order to receive the Zoom links for the informational meetings, you must complete the registration form.

El Programa Comunitario de Prescolar del Distrito 303 llevará a cabo la lotería de inscripción anual. La inscripción se ofrecerá en línea entre el 19 de enero y el 2 de febrero del 2021. Se ofrecerán dos juntas informativas por Zoom para todas las familias de la comunidad que residen en el Distrito 303 que estén interesadas. 2021-2022 Kindergarten Enrollment Closes 3/12

The District 303 Kindergarten enrollment process for the 2021-2022 school year will be virtual! Between January 19 and March 12, families will be able to enroll their kindergarten-age children by visiting the Kindergarten Registration & Information page of the District 303 website. On the site you will find:


Families who wish to submit a Middle School Transfer request may do so beginning February 1, 2021. Families must complete a separate form for each student they want to be transferred. Requests are granted based on space available. This means that siblings are not guaranteed placement. A written decision will be communicated to families before spring break.

Once the request is approved, a student may remain at that middle school throughout his or her middle school career, as long as the student resides in District 303.

Families of students granted permission to attend a school outside of their assigned attendance area are responsible for their own transportation.

Students will return to their assigned attendance area high school regardless of the middle school attended.

The Middle School Transfer request window will close at 4:00pm on February 26, 2021.

D303 is hiring substitutes!

It takes more adults to operate schools safely for students during the pandemic. District 303 currently has numerous job openings in a variety of job categories. If you are looking for temporary, part-time, or full-time employment, please visit the D303 Human Resources page to apply for a position.

One of the more flexible positions available is that of a D303 Substitute. You can choose to work, or not work, as your schedule permits. Take a moment and read the Substitute Handbook to see what this job entails.

If you are interested and hold a:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field you would qualify to apply for a substitute license with the state which allows you to sub for teachers or teacher assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
  • Associate's degree you apply for a Paraprofessional license which only allows you to sub for Teaching assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
  • High School diploma you have to take an aptitude test with the KANE ROE office. Once you pass that, you apply for a Paraprofessional license which only allows you to sub for Teaching assistants. You would apply using THIS link.
