Lopat's Lowdown
Office of the Principal - Faculty Newsletter December 6th
I wrote in last week's Cougar Roar on the importance of student attendance at school. It is just as important that our staff come to work each day. I truly appreciate the dedication you have to being here for our students. I also appreciate the understanding and patience of teachers inheriting a split class. Please know that is always the very last option and thank you for helping a member of your team!
Remember to reteach expectations on Monday. The kids will be crazy and excited to be nearing the holidays, so make sure you take the time to reteach your expectations. It is time well spent. We have 9 full days and a ½ day before Winter Break.
It is that time of year again when Gilbert Public Schools is required to complete the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Surveys. This year the survey is provided electronically. It is a short survey so it should only take a few minutes. The deadline is December 13, 2019, and we must have nearly 100% participation to avoid a penalty. Monica sent the link in an email yesterday.
I am in the processing of scheduling quick Cougar Goals reminders for the start of next semester. I plan to do it the first 5 minutes of lunch recess. I think I will have everyone's attention and it won't interfere with specials. If there is something you’d like for me to focus on during these talks, please tell me.
