Let's Stay in Touch
School Messenger-District and campus messages are sent via School Messenger. School messenger will send emails, text messages, or phone calls depending on the type of information being sent. If you are not receiving School Messenger communication, please contact Mrs. Connelly in the school office at 903-587-8303 or connellyl@leonardisd.net
Remind-Leonard Intermediate has a Remind App that we use to send out upcoming events and important information. Mrs. Connelly sent every parent an invitation to Remind. Please contact Mrs. Connelly in the school office at 903-587-8303 or connellyl@leonardisd.net if you aren't receiving Remind messages and wish to. Some of the teachers also have classroom Remind groups you may get invited to. This is an excellent tool for communication!

Morning Drop-Off
If you are dropping off BOTH an intermediate and junior high student, use the lane marked bus lane to enter the front parking lot. Please pull up to the covered awning to let your students out. You will then proceed behind the high school campus to the exit on the highway.
If you are dropping off an intermediate student only, please drop off at the east end of the campus across from the football field. You will pull into the entrance closest to the highway and make a loop around to the door. There are staff members at the door to welcome your students into the building.

Afternoon Pick-Up
If you are picking up BOTH an intermediate and junior high student, use the lane to the left of the bus lane to pull into a parking spot. The bus lane is reserved for buses only in the afternoon. Please DO NOT pull in front of the junior high or intermediate building and block the flow of traffic if your student is not outside ready to be picked up. If you do not see your child, please pull into a parking space.
Parents picking up intermediate students only should pick up in the east parking lot between the intermediate campus and the nursing home. This will greatly reduce the number of vehicles waiting in the front parking lot if you are picking up an intermediate student only.
At all times, please use caution and patience in the school parking lots and school zones. We appreciate you helping us keep our students safe when arriving and leaving school.

LISD's Dress Code
Dress and Grooming (All Grade Levels)
The district’s dress code teaches grooming and hygiene, prevents disruption, minimizes safety hazards, and maintains a positive learning climate. Students and parents may determine a student’s personal dress and grooming standards, provided that they comply with the following:
· Pants, shorts, and dresses should NOT have cuts or holes above fingertip length unless there is fabric underneath the holes and skin should not be seen.
· Shorts and dresses must be at least fingertip length.
· Athletic shorts are acceptable only if they meet the fingertip length rule.
· Pajama pants, or any type of pants that resembles pajama pants are not allowed
· Leggings, yoga pants, tights, or any other fitted knit pants must have a loose fitting outer layer that falls long enough to hit the top of the thighs in both the front and the back.
· No sagging pants/shorts or visible undergarments.
· No cleavage or midriff to be visible at any time.
· All shirts should be within 3 inches from the collarbone.
· Proper underclothes must be worn but should not be visible. No sheer or see through shirts.
· No house shoes (slippers).
· Hairstyle, cut and color should not be distracting or attract excessive attention (ie., no spiky mohawks or hair coloring outside of natural tones).
· No hats or hoods (from sweatshirts) should be worn inside of the buildings.
· No sunglasses should be worn in the building.
· No trench coats.
· No visible tattoos, piercings outside of the ear or gauges/spacers.
· No worn accessories that would distract from the learning environment.
Principals have the final judgment on all matters concerning interpretation of the dress code. Matters concerning appearance and dress not specifically covered in the dress code policy shall be within the discretion of the campus principal.
If the principal determines that a student’s grooming or clothing violates the school’s dress code, the student will be given an opportunity to correct the problem at school and return to the classroom. If the problem cannot be corrected at school, the principal will work with the student and parent to obtain an acceptable change of clothing for the student in a way that minimizes loss of instructional time.
Repeated or severe offenses may result in more serious disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
Come support your Leonard TIgers!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to another season of Leonard Tiger football! The safety of our students and spectators at the football games is very important. We want to remind you of a couple of rules for elementary and intermediate students.
Students must be accompanied by an adult to each football game.
Students should sit with their parents or an adult at the games and should be supervised at all times to ensure the safety of everyone.
Students will not be allowed to bring in footballs or any other related items to play catch.
Students should not run and/or play tag for their safety and others that may be around.
Students should remain on the home side of the football field. Please do not allow students to go under the bleachers or on the field.
Students may get up to go to the concession stand and restroom, but then we ask that they return to their seats and enjoy the game.
We are looking forward to another successful and fun season. If you have any questions then please contact your campus principal.
