Welcome to the Pony Family!
Welcome Mrs. Kristen Keogh, Assistant Principal
Hello Pony Family! I am so excited I have the opportunity to be one of your Assistant Principals next school year. I grew up in a small town in West Texas, Gordon, I graduated High School with a whopping 13 people. I received my Undergraduate degree at Tarleton State University in Exercise and Sports Studies. I started my career at RL Turner High School in Carrollton where I taught and coached Girls Basketball. I have had the opportunity to teach and coach at Caldwell High School and A&M Consolidated High School where I was also the AVID Campus Coordinator. During my time in College Station, I decided to work on getting my Masters in Educational Administration at Texas A&M. Whoop! During that time my husband, Stuart, and I had our first daughter Addison. That made us want to move back closer to family and I had the opportunity to be the Assistant Principal at Krum Middle School where I have spent the last 3 years. This past school year we welcomed a son Connor who will be 1 in June. I am looking forward to meeting you and doing everything I can to assist you next school year, hopefully in person and not digitally!
A few fun facts:
- We love to travel overseas. We have been to Iceland, Spain, Italy, France, Norway, Switzerland, and we plan on going to Greece this next summer.
- We have 2 dogs, Toby and Seymour.
- My husband is also in Education, he is an Instructional Coach at Coppell 9th Grade Center.
- I grew up on a ranch and still go back to help my Dad work cows and go ride horses with the kids.
- I love coffee; it is probably an addiction I will never have the strength to break.
Welcome Melissa Porsch, Assistant Principal
Hi LVES!
I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve you as Assistant Principal next year! I am originally from Erie, Pennsylvania and graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with an undergrad Communication Science and Disorders (with plans to become a speech language pathologist) but instead, life took me to education. I received my Alt Cert from Dallas ISD, where I taught at WT White High School for 6 years. I loved every minute of my time at WT White, but after my daughter, Clara, was born in 2013, I decided I was ready to move my career closer to home and started working at McKamy Middle School in Flower Mound where I have served as special education department chair for the past 3 years. This spring is a strange one for sure- but I do have a lot to celebrate! I am engaged to be married, I graduated with my Masters in Educational Leadership from TWU this month- and I am now officially part of the Pony Family!
Fun Facts:
I am a huge Pittsburgh fan- Steelers, Penguins and Pirates!
I have travelled to 10 different countries around the world.
I enjoy hand lettering in my free time and have picked up some basic graphic design skills on my ipad during quarantine!
My family has Polish roots and we make pierogies by hand every Christmas, a tradition that started with my grandparents.
I love music and live concerts- my favorite bands are The Avett Brothers, Florence and the Machine, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and last but not least Snoop Dogg….. Not joking!
