Welcome Back From Break
I have to recognize all the parents, for continuing to help our morning drop off procedure run smoothly. Initially, there were some concerns regarding our sign in procedures, but you are pros now. If you do walk in your child in the morning, you will notice either the counselor, or myself will be at the doors to greet the students. This is the first opportunity we have for a caring adult to greet them and help them know we are excited they are at school. In addition, your child's teacher will be greeting them at the door ready to help them start the day positively. As a reminder, this is not the time to discuss homework, a missing flyer, or after school plans with your child's teacher. Their main goal in the morning is to look your child in the face, greet them warmly, and help them transition into their day. We wouldn't want any child to miss this opportunity to connect because teachers were distracted talking to an adult. Thank you in advance for helping every student at Jackson feel connected and appreciated.

The BOGO Book Fair is almost here! You can shop online starting 4/22 at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/jacksonelementaryschool37. The Book Fair will be set up in the Library and open Monday- Friday, 5/6 -5/10. Hours of operation are 2:00pm-3:00pm daily.
Scholastic is offering something new and AMAZING!!! It’s called “eWallet. There are directions on how to set one up on the homepage. If you aren’t able to come to the fair to shop with your child, you don’t have to send money to school with with them. YAHOO!! if you set it up and “eWallet” ,you can put any amount of money you want in it for your child to spend at the Book Fair. One great thing is if you put $20.00 in for them to spend and they only spend part of it, you only get charged for what they spend! They can’t over spend, there is a set limit, but best of all THEY CAN”T LOOSE IT!!! Whoop Whoop!!

Warm Fuzzies and Positivity
Also, as a way to spread kindness throughout the building, our student council will be selling "warm fuzzies" for 25 cents, before school and during lunch in the gym. Students will be able to send positive messages to each other, with warm fuzzies being delivered each afternoon this week. The proceeds will go to fund the end of the year 6th grade events.
