Cunningham Messenger
November 7th
Principal's Message
Dear CunningFAM,
It's a busy week for Cunningham! We are very excited for our mini Academic Showcase and Book Fair.
Mini-Academic Showcase
For our first Academic Showcase of the year we will be highlighting the work our AMAZING Essential Areas and PEAS does for our school. Come on by and enjoy a beautiful Dia de Los Muertos Exhibit on the stage, some drum fit in the gym, see the kitchen, and here some mini-performances from our amazing Cobra Choruses:
Students will be performing a short five-minute performance on November 11th at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. We will be singing two songs we have been learning in music class. The performance will be held outside in the courtyard.
First group: 2nd and 3rd grade will be performing together “Cuando el Reloj“ and Jingle Bells.
Second group: 4th and 5th grade will be performing together “Skin and Bones” and Feliz Navidad.
Please email me at yulianna.molina@austinisd.org if your student can participate in this performance on November 11th at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Book Fair Info
Book Fair is coming soon! We will have an in-person Book Fair the week of November 8th-12th. This is the perfect place to do some holiday shopping! There are a few notable changes this year due to pandemic protocols:
- In an effort to make this fair as safe as possible for all our students, staff members, and families, this will be a NO CASH book fair. We're asking caregivers to please set up a Scholastic eWallet account for their children HERE and here is a video to show you how to do it. It's easy to create an eWallet for your student. Simply add funds or invite family and friends to contribute. It provides a safe, cashless way for students to shop for their own books in person and provides a secure contactless check-out. (Please contact Ms. Quigley if cash is the only option for you and we will work something out.)
- We'll be open Monday, November 8th through Friday, November 12th from 7:30am-3:45pm. Thursday November 11 will be extended hours until 7:30pm. Per AISD protocol, Book Fair shoppers will be required to wear masks and use hand sanitizer or gloves while shopping. Caregivers may purchase books using credit cards, debit cards, or eWallet accounts. Please be aware that we'll be limiting the number of people entering the library and at times there may be a short wait. Caregivers are encouraged to shop between 7:30-8:30am and 2:30-3:45pm, as well as 5:30-7:30 pm on Thursday.
- All students will be coming to the Book Fair with their classes at a scheduled time during the week of November 8th-12th. We ask that if your child plans to purchase books at school, their eWallet account is set up by Monday, November 8th. To make shopping easier for your child, you can determine which items you'd like to purchase ahead of time by browsing the interactive book flyer HERE or watching some preview videos PK-3 and 4-5
Please let Ms. Quigley know if you have any questions. All Book Fair proceeds will benefit the library. Thank you for your help in making this a fun, safe, and successful event!

Segundo grupo: 4º y 5º grado actuarán juntos “Skin and Bones” y Feliz Navidad.
