Examples of Pathos

In the What Would You Do project we looked for ethos, pathos, and logos in our outside source. This is an example of Pathos from my outside source:

"I think people are going to cheat so it will help them to get into [an Ivy League school]. ... You can't change that; you can't change people wanting to get the A or whatever.
If ... cheating is going to get you the grade, then that's the way to do it"(McCabe 2).

As we watched the Merchant of Venice, we looked for ethos, pathos, and logos throughout the script. This is an example of Pathos from the Merchant of Venice:

"Hath left me gaged. To you, Antonio

I owe the most, in money and in love"(Bassanio 1).
