Miss Courtney and Miss Amy's Class
This week...
The past two weeks we have been learning about the letter U and C and studied different kinds of balls. We talked about the different sports that you play with balls, how they feel look and if they bounce or not. We even got to incorporate balls into our artwork and made choices for making different sports balls. The kids had the most fun incoropating balls into their play. They built ramps, bridges and tunnels and experimented with whether or not the balls would fit through certain spaces and places. Since we were talking about all things bouncy, we explored sensory properties with jello jigglers during choice time. The kiddos loved feeling the weird texture.
We did many writing tasks this week too. The kids got to make their own picture about what balls they like best. They also got to write cards and pictures for Miss Kell's baby shower. Everyone is so excited about writing, drawing and being creative. We are all getting so big so fast! We had a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday on Thursday. The kiddos got to walk down to the gym and vote for their favorite Dr. Seuss book.
This week also we got to take out our cars and bikes and do center time outside. Thank goodness for the sunshine! We are all working on getting our bodies healthy and strong when we practice gross motor skills on the bikes and cars. We also took out our huge parachute and did ball play on it one day with Mrs Strohl's class! We loved watching the balls fly into the sky and then enjoyed racing to count and collect them. It has been a wonderful two weeks in preschool!
