Halloween Safety

Check out the attached tips for a SAFE Halloween!

Special Days Coming

Wednesday, October 28th--SPIRIT DAY--celebrating FALL SPORTS. Students may wear VIKING OR SJL SPIRIT WEAR with uniform bottoms on Wednesday! Our pep rally will be OUTSIDE for safety!

Friday, October 30th--HALLOWEEN--Students may dress in "casual" wear, including tops and bottoms for a "FREE DRESS DAY". Please follow handbook guidelines! If in doubt, don't wear it! No costumes, please! Teachers will be having parties in the afternoon with supplies donated by their homeroom moms and parents. That night we are sponsoring a DRIVEY BY Trunk or Treat! 5-7 Students can drive by and collect candy from sponsoring trunks. We are asking for a donation of a canned good for the St. Vincent DePaul society as admission.

Beginning on Monday, November 2, (and on rainy days until then) we will be taking temperatures at either the parish or school doors.

Please begin unloading between the school door and the SJL statue UNLESS you have a small child who needs assistance and please pull as far forward as possible to allow other cars to pass behind you and please be careful when leaving to make sure that no one is passing you on the right!

As we move into the colder months, we will follow the Blue Springs school district closing for SNOW but NOT for cold. We do have five snow days built into the schedule. If we get close to using those, we will move to virtual learning on snow days so as to save days and prevent us from going past Memorial Day.

We do go outside for recess when it is 32 degrees or warmer or when the wind chill is above freezing. Please send appropriate dress for outside.
