Jazmin Murillo has accepted a position at Stripling Elementary as their LSTC! We are so excited for this new opportunity and know she will shine in this role! As a result, we will be hiring a new teacher for the 6th grade social studies position. We will also need a volunteer to help coordinate the Junior Achievement curriculum and field trip for 6th grade. Please let me know if this is a role you are interested in filling.

Janelle Gardner will be joining our 7th grade team as a LA/SS teacher. She will be part of the three member team on 7th grade.

Jordan Team Handbook

We are anticipating the publication of our team handbook next week (electronic publication via email). Please review the handbook prior to our preplanning activities beginning August 3rd. The handbook will provide you with some background knowledge for our activities and discussions in July and August.

Jordan MS Opening: July 3, 2015 @ 12:01 AM

We are excited to open the building to our team on July 3rd @ 12:01 AM! This is an opportunity to tour, have fun, and move in! As we are planning for this event, we would like to know who will be attending. Please use this link to RSVP.

This is not a required event. We would like to know how to prepare and plan for our premier, so please share with us your intent. Thank you!

Your instructional space set up

As you begin to prepare for move in, please do not bring in couches and other furniture items. Each classroom will have two filing cabinets, two storage cabinets, a computer table for student laptops, a teaching table, two book cases, a teacher desk, 32 student desks, a set of lockers, a black printer/laptop rolling cart, and a book cart. The floor space will be used for a group meeting area to conduct your mini-lesson.

Upon arrival to your classroom, you will notice that our custodial team has prepared your classroom in the gradual release model to support implementation of our instructional model. All items have been labeled with your room number, so please do not relocate furniture.

As we build our community, we wanted to make sure that every team has access to some conveniences. Therefore, we have provided the following for each floor: a full size refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. We have a soft drink vending machine on Community Court in our teacher area across from the gym. We will also have a snack machine and drink machine in the cafe once school begins. In addition, we have two microwaves located in the cafe for use by the adults during lunch. These types of items are not allowed in the classrooms.
