Principal's Breakfast

Principal's Breakfast started this last week at CIS! Two students from each class are invited to join the principal in the library for breakfast. This gives all of us a chance to have a morning chat and enjoy breakfast together. Different groups will be coming down for breakfast throughout the rest of the year. Thanks for joining me this week!

Halloween Parties

Halloween is coming up quickly! Please read your teachers' newsletters for more information. As you are thinking about costumes for your student(s), please remember to follow our school guidelines:

  • Please refrain from blood and gore
  • Faces must be visible, no full face masks
  • Look alike weapons are not permitted
  • No clown costumes

This year, you will be able to sign in at your teacher's classroom. No more long lines in the office! You will also be able to sign your student out from your teacher's classroom at the end of the day.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent teacher conferences are next week! (11/4 and 11/7). You should have received a conference note to sign up for conferences from the classroom teachers. This was sent home with your student last week. If you did not get a note, please check with your student. If you need another note, please write a note in your student's planner and the teacher will send another one home.

Scholastic Book Fair

Our Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner! This is a great opportunity for our students to have books they want to read brought into our school. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child's reading habits!

Information regarding our Book Fair was sent home with your child last week. If you missed the letter that was sent home, you can follow this link to see the information: Book Fair Letter

So Many Activities, So Little Time

Students involved in extracurricular activities tend to have higher self-esteem and stronger connections to school. But too many activities can have the opposite effect. Here are some tips to help manage your child's activity load.
