HIP 4O0 - Final Assessment
Personal Care Capsule
Your HIP course journey ...
Now to reflect and predict our destination ...
Step 1: Personal Care Capsule
- Three dimensional
- Be personally relevant to your journey (e.g., If your goal is to become a Carpenter, your vessel/capsule could reflect/represent a toolbox)
- Thoughtfully decorated (all designs are purposeful/meaningful)
Step 2: Items included in your Personal Care Capsule
You need to find an Item that reflects your transition from Teenagehood into Emerging Adulthood.
The item could represent/signify one of the following questions, but is not limited to:
- Where have you been/who were you/who are you?
- Where are you going?
- How are you going to get there?
Unit Two Item:
Assertive Warrior Mask
- Using the mask you already created, adjust/modify/adapt it to reflect your current ASSERTIVE self by including at a minimum of 1 new quality you are achieving/working on developing. NOTE ** Before making any changes make sure you have a picture of your original mask to use in your reflection.
- Be mindful/creative to show how this quality has contributed to growth into the person you currently are.
Unit Three Item:
Think about some way you have spent money.
What is the best money you have ever spent?
What has made you happy that you have spent money on?
Include something that reflects this item and in your written reflection include why spending this has made you happy even though others may question your spending.
Unit Four Item:
Include a product/skill/service that learning how to use/do will make life easier in the future. You may not necessarily know how to use/do this product/skill/service at the moment, but its addition and use will make transitioning into Emerging Adulthood easier.
Step 3: Your Own Unlearn Poster
What was your unlearn moment throughout this course?
During the four units, you constantly reflected and re-reflected on yourselves and your learning. What moment/topic/idea was your biggest "aha" moment?
With this "aha" moment in mind, you are required to create your own Unlearn Poster.
The goal of an unlearn design is to create a dialogue your changing perception of an issue/stage of life. A strong unlearn design meets a few key criteria (but not necessarily all). The following list can help you determine if your unlearn
design is on the right track.
Design checklist:
1) Thought provoking
2) Provocative
3) Open to many interpretations
4) Creates a dialogue
5) Fairly easy to understand/interpret
6) Aesthetically appealing
7) Interrupts a stereotype/prejudice/stigma
Step 4: Reflections for each Item in your Personal Care Vessel/Capsule
Each reflection must be attached to the item.
